Here is video about how to oil your trumpet valves. You do not need to oil them unless they are sticky or slow to move. (Maybe once or twice per week?) After you oil each valve it must be aligned correctly inside of the valve casing, or the air will not blow through your trumpet. Watch the video to see what I mean.

Here is a video about how to grease your trombone slide using Yamaha Slide Lubricant. After you put the lubricant on the slide, it will work even better if you spray a fine mist of regular water on the silver inner-slide using a small mist sprayer.

A small travel-sized spray bottle like this is prefect for spraying a light mist of regular tap water on the slide after you have applied the Yamaha slide lubricant. You can usually find them in the "travel-size" section of Walgreens or CVS. Another good slide lubricant is called Slide-o-mix.
