You all did a fabulous job singing this week! I showed the 6th graders your videos and they loved them!
Next week is our last rehearsal before the concert. We will be singing Thula Klizeo with piano and Let Us Sing Together a cappella (which means without any instrumental accompaniment) and in a round. I want you all to focus on Let Us Sing Together this week so that you know it really well and can stay in your part while another group is singing another part. We will be singing with all the 5th grade choirs from the 4 Ross Valley Schools TOGETHER for the first time! This will give you an idea of what it will be like to be in choir at White Hill!
Remember some of the practice ideas from the video - practice without distractions, and when you're unable to practice by singing out loud you can also go over the song in your head.
I know you will all be fabulous! Links to the songs are in the previous post. I'll see you next week!
Great to see everyone last week!!
Our next concert is Tuesday Feb 12 at 7pm (you arrive at 6:30) at the White Hill Gym
We will be singing 2 songs: Thula Klizeo and Let us Sing Together. All of the schools 5th grade choirs will be singing together! I will attach the lyrics to Let Us Sing Together here and a recording. I'll also re-post the Thula Klizeo video. Have a great week! Don't forget your practice logs!

Hello Fabulous 5th graders!
I hope you are having a great vacation. I just wanted to leave a quick reminder to continue to practice Thula Klizeo IN YOUR PARTS - either harmony, the high line, or melody, the low line. Our concerts will be between the dates of December 19-21 so we need to get ready! I know you will all do a great job :)
For Wade Thomas and Brookside, unfortunately I won't see you the week after Thanksgiving because of conference schedules at your schools. Please keep practicing and I will stamp your logs when I see you next !

Hello 5th grade choir!
This week we worked on singing HARMONY in Thula Klizeo! We sing in HARMONY when two sections of choir are singing different pitches (notes) with the same words at the same time! One part sings high and one part repeats the regular melody (we call this the low part). We have decided at Hidden Valley and Brookside who are singing which parts.
Do you remember which part you sing??
We start singing HARMONY (in 2 parts) when Thula Klizeo divides into two singing parts (after the Boom Boom Pah quiet (piano) then medium loud (mezzo forte) then very loud (fortissimo or ff) . You can see this on your sheet music at the bottom of the third page.
This week I would like for you to practice your harmony part! You can use the video to help you remember when you start to sing harmony.
MAKE SURE TO BRING YOUR PRACTICE LOGS THIS WEEK!!! It is the last week and we will be exchanging them for new ones!!!
We also worked on a new warm-up using SOLFEGE or NUMBERS. SOLFEGE is the word for when we sing do-re-mi etc. I'll put a copy of that warm up below.

Hello 5th grade singers!
For this week please continue practicing Thula Klizeo and I will include below a link to the lyrics to Halloween rounds that we sang this week. Please remember to bring me your completed practice sheets with your parents initials every week! This counts towards your music grade and is very important! Make yourself a reminder to bring your music folder and practice sheet to school on choir days (Wednesday for Wade Thomas, Thursday for Manor, Brookside and Hidden Valley). I will also include a link for the rubric/grading policy that you and your parents signed below as well. Also please remember to bring your t-shirt forms next time!
