Fifth graders - you were FANTASTIC at our concert on Wednesday!! You played together, and played the right notes - I could not have asked for more. You were so professional when getting into ready position; it looked awesome! I hope you enjoyed the concert, and Pompeii (which sounded amazing!).

This week, have a rest and play 30 minutes of music you really love to play. 

I hope some of you are thinking of carrying on with your instrument in orchestra next year! If you really enjoy playing your instrument, you like a challenge, and you enjoyed playing together for an audience, orchestra is for you :) I've attached the "6th Grade Orchestra FAQs" sheet, which was handed out to your families at the concert, in case you have any questions. You can always email me and ask as well.

Our combined strings concert is THIS WEDNESDAY (25th January)!

• White Hill Middle School gym (101 Glen Drive, Fairfax)
  
• Arrive at 6:30pm, bringing your instrument (labeled), music (labeled) and rock stop/anchor strap (labeled)
  
• Wear your purple music t-shirt and any jeans or dark pants
  
• The concert will run 7:00-8:00pm and all are welcome. Admission is free!

Breakfast with the Orchestra is coming up! Hidden Valley and Wade Thomas students are invited to White Hill on Wednesday 1/18 and Manor and Brookside students are invited on 1/19. Please arrive at 7:50 and wait outside the White Hill office - don't come straight to the orchestra room! Together you will be practicing:

Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful break and you managed to get some practice in! I was so proud of every strings group at your Holiday Singalong performances, and I'm excited about you all playing together at the concert on January 25th.
