Hello Everyone!
How is that 1 octave scale coming along? If you're reading this and confused, make sure to scroll down to previous posts, the one from last week has links to how to play a concert Bb (B flat) scale.
Let's also go back to basics-- Long tones, getting out the timer and seeing how long you can hold a single note with a long supported breath.... Playing a note and seeing how in tune you can get it with a tuner or a tuning app if you have one-- if you don't, the one that I use and you enjoy a lot is called the "Tonal Energy Tuner". That one is 3.99 or so in the app store, but there are also many free tuning app options that work the same (just not fun smiley faces)! This is a good time to work on that tone, pitch, and breath support. Everything becomes easier when the actual production of your instrument's characteristic sound is second nature and you can focus on reading the notes and rhythms in songs and exercises!
Hey There! I notice almost all of you have signed in to Smart Music. Make sure you're using the Chrome browser when using that program or it will not work.
Did you figure out that you can go and search for songs that I haven't assigned? That you can play any song in our book Essential Elements? See what else you can find on the site!
