We are adding #25 Lightly Row (on page 7 of your book, Essential Elements for Band Vol 1)
This song is very well known and has been widely translated into other languages around the world. The song was originally written in German, but the melody has travelled far and wide and many countries have their own lyrics..... See HERE
This song has 16 measures of music. However, there are repeating parts and it is not as daunting as it seems at first. Remember to practice SLOWLY at first, but giving each note it's value, as slowly as you need to, until you are able to play each phrase well, Then, slowly increase the speed you are playing. It is too complicated for our brains to play everything up to performance speed when we are learning. It is by FAR more frustrating and discouraging if we expect to be able to play up to speed when we are learning a new song! SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE. With patience, persistence, and practice, you will be victorious, like the mighty lizard below.
PS: don't forget to keep practicing our other songs too!
