Welcome to a new year of chorus! I'm so excited to start singing with you next week.
6th graders - we get to sing together every morning! 7th and 8th graders - we have a NEW configuration for our choirs! Coro Forte (Italian for "strong chorus") is our guys' chorus and Bella Voce (Italian for "beautiful voice") is our girls' chorus. It's going to be so great to focus on the girls' and guys' voices as they grow. See you soon! Ms. Martone The White Hill Music Department is very pleased to announce the results of the Music in the Parks Festival on Saturday, May 7. Over 160 White Hill musicians performed at Vanden High School or Golden West Middle School in Fairfield along with bands, choirs and orchestras from 24 other schools. San Rafael-based teen a cappella group 'Til Dawn visited to give a special performance for White Hill chorus students this afternoon. The soloist in this video, Bjorn, is a White Hill Chorus alum... he went to the ACDA National Honor Choir last year when he was in 8th grade! Many Voices, One Art Choral Festival San Francisco, March 5 San Francisco Bach Choir is celebrating it’s anniversary with a FREE choral festival. There will be opening and closing sessions, with three workshops sessions in between. Even lunch is included. Almost too good to be true! Depending on your tastes or professional development needs, you can sing plainchant with Marsha Genensky, re-leaven your short’ning bread with Linda Tillery, belt out Broadway with Trente Morant, or sing some Bach with SFBC's superb director Magen Solomon—to name a few choices. SheSings Women's A Cappella Festival Berkeley, March 11-13 The headlining group, Women of the World, won the Harmony Sweepstakes National Finals in 2014 - they're a phenomenal group! "The Women's A Cappella Association (WACA) is bringing their fourth annual SheSings festival to the beautiful Freight & Salvage in Berkeley, CA! SheSings is an educational and community-building festival open to singers and fans of any age, gender or stylistic preference. This year, WACA looks forward to offering more than ever to attendees with our exciting and unique festival format." Harmony Sweepstakes A Cappella Festival San Francisco (Regional SemiFinal), March 12 San Rafael (National Finals @ Marin Civic Center), May 17 "For over 30 years the Harmony Sweepstakes has been delighting audiences and the Festival continues to grow in popularity. The show was the inspiration for the hit prime time NBC show The Sing-Off which aired for five seasons bringing even more interest to the art of a cappella singing. Winners of the seven regional competitions are flown to the Bay Area to compete in the National Finals with the winners being crowned National Champions. From vocal jazz to doo wop, barbershop to pop and all styles in between you will be amazed at the versatility of the human voice on display in this most exhilarating evening of vocal harmony singing."
